Celebrated Nigerian singer, songwriter, and producer, Nonso Amadi, has released his highly anticipated debut album titled ‘When It Blooms.’ The 15-track record signifies a significant milestone for Amadi, showcasing his artistic and personal growth over the years.
Presented through the collaborative efforts of Def Jam Recordings, Polydor Records, MCA, and Universal Music Canada, the album encapsulates Amadi’s musical journey and reflects his self-discovery process.
The album opens with the captivating track ‘Here For It,’ where Amadi reflects on the challenges and uncertainties he faced early in his music career while acknowledging his unwavering determination with the lyrics, ‘na so then the plan no get plan b.’
‘NASA,’ produced by Azulwynter and FrancisGotHeat, pays homage to the hip-hop artists who initially inspired Amadi, such as 50 Cent, Lil Wayne, and Ja Rule. The song lyrically explores the progression of dreams from one phase of life to the next.
One of the album’s standout tracks, ‘Kilimanjaro,’ features the talented artist BEAM, known for his collaborations with renowned musicians like Justin Bieber, Jorja Smith, and Beyoncé. Another notable track, ‘Night In Maryland,’ holds deep sentimental value for Amadi, capturing his late-night recording sessions in Lagos, Nigeria, amidst the bustling traffic, vibrant lights, and internal struggles.
